A freebie: Jonah in the ESV

Over on the Sola Panel, I've blogged about some free notes you can get on the book of Jonah, an extract from the ESV Study Bible. I like that Mark Futato, author of the notes, agrees with me that Jonah is a laff-a-minute prophet, even if not intentionally. In that way he's not unlike Rowan Williams, the current Archbishop of Canterbury, except that he doesn't go on for as long and he actually stands for something.

The study notes are really good. Head over to the Sola Panel, read my comments and do yourself a (free) favour.

and Jonah repented.

Ah, the fundamental dilemma! Can there really be anything like a "good study bible"? Isn't that a contradiction in the adjective? Like a coloured zebra? Or a funny German, for that matter?

Btw, thanks for the FB post. I'm half way back on my feet.
