Richard Lane has done a brave thing, telling Justice Michael Kirby that he faces the judgement of God for continuing to call himself a Christian while living a homosexual lifestyle.
We should pray for him, and for Justice Kirby's repentance.
Honesty Gordon, do you really think that this was the first time that Michael Kirby has been told that he was going to hell? I'm sure Michael Kirby knows what many Christians think about homosexuality already.
David, I'm quite sure none of this is news to Michael Kirby. I also think that the leaking of the letters, even with Richard's consent, was designed to do damage.
That I doubt. Although MK makes passing reference to tone, the substance of his objection is to the content of what is said. And Richard was quite right to say it. I don't really think you or I are well placed to pass judgment on what constitutes a gracious tone.

Well, no damage would have been done if Reverend Lane wrote graciously to His Honour.
