So facebook has a system where you get to be a fan of someone, if you click on the link.
Is there way of not being a fan of someone? How about links for
(1) Pretty much ignoring
(2) Mildly irritated by
(3) Really quite bothered by
(4) Not a fan
(5) Get outta here
(6) Ask me privately

Maybe we could plugin to the API and write an app that automagically assigns people to one of those categories depending on how many application 'invitations' they send you.
Gordo, why would you want to do that? That sounds like a pretty dumb idea! ;P
The perks of being a fan of something or somebody is that you get news updates about them (e.g. new Sia Furler video! Free John Mayer track! etc.) They come in a slightly separate feed. So there are good reasons to be a fan of someone. (Other than gratuitously using Facebook to build pathetically nerdy virtual shrines to one's husband, of course!)
