Jury duty

Here's an incredible story from today's SMH about a high profile court case, aborted because of one phone call which may have been a hoax.

This is a huge can of worms. From now on, all that guilty criminals who are placed on trial need to do to slow things down is to phone a friend.

I once worked on a case where a prosecutor inadvertently spoke to a juror in the court foyer. There was a mistrial. The prosecutor was almost struck off.
The fury of the judge was something to behold.
