Sydney Philharmonia

Another parent at school sings in this choir so I went along for the first time tonight for a rehearsal. Sang Stabat Mater by Poulenc and Requiem by Duruffle (not how it is spelt, but I don't have the music with me to check). I used to sing in the Melbourne Chamber Choir so it is nice to have a go at doing this again.

Are they "sound" enough for you?

Now you've done it! Jensen will now want you to lead the music ministry at the cathedral!

Hey Gordon,

this is a completely unconnected comment to this post but I couldn't figure out how else to contact you (in less than 2 minutes).

Just wondering about your not really recent Baddeley the Brilliant comments re: death, mortality, eternal life, etc. What does this say about hell and eternal punishment? I've been revisiting this subject a little recently and can't help but feel those thoughts on the mortal nature of humanity apart from the purposes of God would head you somewhat in the direction of a type of annihilationism. (note the multiple cagey qualifiers) Doesn't it? Or am I as thick as a whale omelet?

Hey Josh—whale omelet, I like it! In a theoretical, non-Japanese sort of way. ;-)

I am not sure what the Bad man would say about this question, maybe you could ask him on his blog and he might answer you inbetween baby feeds.

But the annihilationism option is excluded if you decide (on the basis of the scriptural evidence) that God sustains our existence in Hell for eternity.

That's what I think is the case, but more by deduction from what Scripture seems to teach about the nature of Hell (that is, it is eternal torment) than because of any specific verse.
