Isn't the law useful for increasing sin. And if that sin increases, then grace will increase all the more?
The increase of sin would, I think, be more like an undesirable consequence of law; one that is no less undesirable even if grace abounds.I believe that the primary intention of law as far as humanity is concerned was to give life (Romans 7:10, following Deut 30: 15-20 and cf. Ps 119)
