Prediction time

Lots of articles inspired by events surrounding the coming Howard bio. Here's one.

If the Liberals lose, then John Howard's gone. That's a no-brainer.

But I think the Liberals will hold on to power, and Costello will stay.

You may be right Gordon. Part of me wonders if this is some enormous, twisty plot on the part of the Coalition that is going to win them the election, in a way that more poor simple brain can't grasp. We will know soon enough.
For my part, I hope we have seen the last of Little Johnny. Maybe the Libs will boot him now, but they've always been to damn smart to do something so disruptive.

Hey dark knight, nice to see you here! I can't see that it's a plot, there are ways in which you have to respect the loyalty of Pete C to his leader but from time to time the frustration just bubbles over. Win or lose the election, he seems to be paving the way for a spill afterwards by highlighting Howard's weak points and talking up his own credential as the man who gave us our current economic sunshine.

I'll stay cautiously non-committal on whether it would be good to see JH gone. I know of people who've been through Villawood detention centre, and I hate what's happening there. Whether Labor would improve things I don't know, but it steams me up when I think about how refugees get treated 'round here.
