Keep praying for persecuted Christians.

I'm often uncomfortably aware of how little I know of persecuted Christians outside the media spotlight. This letter in the Oz was a good reminder today to pray for Christians in Iraq.

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

I'm with you Gordon. I've found 2 websites to be of enormous value
1. Open Doors www.opendoors.org.au
2. Voice of the Martyrs www.persecution.com
Our bible study opens in prayer, which includes prayer for a particular persecuted church spotlighted during opening announcements. This way everyone is informed, everyone has interceded and will hopefully remember to prayer during the week.
